Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on grading, delivery, returns and finding the figure you need.
Is everything genuine LEGO?
Yes. We only sell genuine LEGO® parts, minifigures and sets. We never sell compatible, copied or third-party bricks.
What do the condition grades mean?
Every item has one of four grades:
- New: straight from its original LEGO bag or box, never built or played with.
- Used - good: previously displayed or played with, with all parts in good condition.
- Used - worn: visible wear, such as sun fading or scuffs. Washed and checked.
- Used - part-built: a set mostly still in its original bags, with a stage or two started.
Anything specific to an item is written in its condition notes. The full details are in our condition guide.
Is the photo of the actual item?
Some listings use a reference photo of the figure or set. The grade and condition notes describe the item you'll receive. If you'd like a photo of the actual item before you buy, just ask.
How do I find a specific minifigure?
Search by character name or by the official catalogue code, such as sw0614. The code is in every minifigure title and matches the codes used on BrickLink.
Can you find a figure I'm looking for?
Often, yes. Tell us what you're after and we'll keep an eye out.
Do you buy LEGO?
Yes. We buy and trade LEGO minifigures and sets. Get in touch with what you have.
Where do you deliver?
UK addresses only, for now.
How much is delivery?
£5.99 for standard UK delivery, free on orders of £75 or more.
How long will my order take?
We aim to dispatch within 2 working days and send everything by Royal Mail from Newbury, Berkshire. You'll get a tracking link by email when it ships.
Can I return something?
Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. If an item is damaged, faulty or not as described, we'll put it right at our cost. See shipping and returns.
What if I open a new set and then return it?
You can still return it within 14 days, but an opened box can't be sold as new and unopened, even if the bags inside haven't been touched. The same goes for an opened polybag or minifigure bag, or a box that's been creased or damaged. We'll deduct the loss in value from your refund and tell you the amount first. This doesn't apply if the item was faulty or not as described when it arrived. More about unopened sets and bags.
How can I pay?
All major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Shop Pay.
Why is there only one of most figures?
Most of our stock is pre-loved and one of a kind. When a figure sells, it's gone until we find another, so if you see one you need, don't wait too long.
What does TTB stand for?
takethebrick. It's the short name we and our customers use, so TTB and takethebrick are the same shop.
How do I contact you?
